Thank You to everyone who came out to @rizzolibookstore!
What an amazing night - I joined author and critic Anthony DeCurtis in conversation to mark the publication of NIGHT DIVIDES THE DAY, the definitive chronicle of the legendary band, followed by a signing.
This book tells our story - the music, the chaos, the brotherhood - through rare photos, handwritten lyrics, and memories that shaped a generation.

Happy birthday to the great Chick Corea.
Chick was a groundbreaking jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader known for his innovation across genres. He was a key figure in Miles Davis’s electric era, he later founded Return to Forever, helping shape the sound of 1970s jazz fusion.
He was truly one of the greats.

Rest in peace, Brian Wilson.
Jim always admired Brian’s genius - he called the Beach Boys one of his favorite groups. I felt it too. Brian had a way of crafting harmonies that felt like California itself. We were making very different music, but chasing the same thing: something honest, something lasting.

Sly Stone was so ahead of the curve, he had a global village in his band. White people, black people, women... “Everyday People.” We were so proud when he stuck the exclamation, “Light my fire” into the lyrics of his song, “I Wanna Take You Higher.”
RIP my friend, john densmore
Remembering The Wolf today on his birthday.
Howlin’ Wolf was a giant of the Blues - instrumental in turning Delta Blues into the electrified sound of Chicago. His recording of “Back Door Man,” written by Willie Dixon, became a standout in the Blues scene. We paid tribute by covering it on our first album.

For the first time ever, LIVE IN VANCOUVER 1970 is now available for streaming.
Recorded during The Doors’ Roadhouse Blues Tour, this unreleased set recorded on June 6, 1970 captures the band in top form - tearing through “Back Door Man,” “When The Music’s Over,” and an 18-minute “Light My Fire.” Blues legend Albert King joins midway for four unforgettable tracks.

Back in June 2010, I had the chance to attend a special screening of When You’re Strange—a powerful film narrated by @johnnydepp and directed by @tomdicilloofficial. It captures the rise of The Doors through rare, never-before-seen footage of Jim, Ray, Robby, and me. It’s raw, honest, and close to the heart.
Now, 15 years later, the film returns to the big screen at the Tribeca Festival. Join us on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the SVA Theatre in New York City for a special anniversary screening. After the film, I’ll sit down for a live conversation to reflect on our legacy and share stories from our wild ride—past and present.
Let’s reconnect and celebrate the music, the message, and the magic.

Happy birthday to Allen Ginsberg - visionary poet and voice of a generation.
As a key figure in the Beat movement, Ginsberg’s fearless writing and activism left a permanent mark on American counterculture.
I still remember Jim and I, early in The Doors days, taking a walk down the Venice Boardwalk to the Venice West Café - just because we knew Ginsberg had once read there.
