Drummer John Densmore to Play At Tenth Anniversary Benefit for
Anti-Poverty Group

The City of Justice Awards Dinner will be
held on Friday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Biltmore
Hotel, located at 506 S. Grand Ave. in downtown Los Angeles.
Densmore and a small group of fellow percussionists will open
the program with a brief set. Washington Post columnist and LA
Weekly political editor Harold Meyerson will deliver the
keynote speech.
The event marks the tenth anniversary
of LAANE, best known for leading the successful campaign to
pass the citys living wage law. Honorees will include L.A.
City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, SEIU Local 1877 (Justice for
Janitors) President Mike Garcia, and Leland Wong, director of
Community and Government Relations for Kaiser Permanente,
along with Santa Monica hotel workers and Los Angeles nursing
home workers. | |
